1. Personal use

This player is offered for personal, private listening. It is free software under the AGPL-3.0-or-later licence and comes with no warranty of any kind.

2. Audio processing

The enhancer (expander, exciter, air shelf, AutoEQ, spatial stage, AGC, limiter) modifies the audio signal you hear. Some broadcasters and rights holders prohibit altering or re-broadcasting their stream in their terms of use, and modified audio may require additional permission. Only process streams and files you are allowed to use, and check each source's terms.

3. Commercial ducking ("Duck commercials")

The ducking feature is a heuristic that lowers the volume when it thinks an advertisement is playing. It is off by default and provided as an experiment. Muting, skipping or altering advertising may breach a broadcaster's terms of use, may be unlawful in some jurisdictions, and reduces the advertising revenue that funds free radio. Detection is imperfect: it can miss an ad or duck music by mistake. You are solely responsible for enabling and using it, and for respecting broadcaster terms and local law.

4. Station search and licence verification

Search results come from the public radio-browser.info directory and from stations' own self-reported tags (royalty-free, licence-free, copyright-free, public domain, Creative Commons). No licence is verified by this app. A station that tags itself royalty-free may still broadcast licensed music, advertisements or jingles. Always verify the licence of a source before relying on it — especially for anything public or commercial.

5. Third-party streams and availability

Streams are hosted by third parties, not by us. We do not control, endorse or guarantee their availability, quality, legality, content, advertising or data practices. Their servers may be outside the EU and may not run on renewable energy. If a stream blocks browser access, the player may relay it through a third-party CORS proxy (optional; can be disabled in settings).

6. No redistribution of audio

The player does not record, download or redistribute audio. It plays streams as your browser receives them. You may not use it to re-broadcast, re-stream or publicly perform licensed content without the necessary rights.

7. Businesses, venues and collecting societies

Do not use this consumer edition for public or commercial playback. Playing radio or licensed music in a business — café, bar, restaurant, shop, gym, office, hotel — generally requires a licence or permit from your local collecting society, for example Buma/Stemra (Netherlands), SABAM / PlayRight (Belgium), GEMA (Germany) or the equivalent body in your country. Unlicensed public performance can lead to significant fines and back-dated fees.

Businesses should use the Venue Hi-Fi (B2B) edition, which is designed for royalty-free music (Jamendo and comparable royalty-free sources) and local files. Even there, you must verify the licence of every source you play and keep proof of it. Rules differ per country and per type of venue (size, admission fee, terraces, etc.).

8. Advertising

The free edition is funded by anonymous advertising served by A-ads. Ads are cookie-free and not targeted at you personally. Ad frames are third-party content; we do not control what they show.

9. Liability

The software is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the authors are not liable for any damage, loss or legal consequence arising from your use of the software, including claims related to copyright, neighbouring rights, advertising, processing or public performance.
